Happy winter everyone! It is time to register for the 2023 CSA season!   Know your farmer. Know your food.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.  CSA members pre-pay for “shares” in a local organic farm at the beginning of the season in March when the farmer most needs the money. Then during the harvest from June through November, the farmer delivers a weekly assortment of vegetables, herbs, and some fruit.

100% of your food dollars go to the person who is growing it. You support sustainable, local agriculture and get freshly picked organic produce at reasonable prices.  In addition, you know the farmer growing your vegetables and can visit the farm – establishing a personal connection with your food supply. Hi Folks, The week you have been waiting for has arrived, the first delivery. We have lots of nice stuff in store for the be- ginning of the season. The spinach looks beautiful as do the lettuces and the peas have been flowering profusely. (more…)

Hi Folks,

It was another hectic week at the farm, but a lot was accomplished. One of the major projects that has been worrying me for the last several weeks was the laying of a waterline 500 ft. across horse paddocks, to get water to the crops planted in my newly rented field. There are eggplant, peppers, ground cherries, melons, and other crops planted in this field in plastic mulch covered beds. (more…)

Hi Everyone, We had a nice group of folks out here on the farm last Saturday for a tour and a campfire. It’s always a pleasure to meet the members and especially the children that are being raised on our veggies. Thanks to those who came out on Sunday and helped break apart garlic bulbs to prepare them for planting. These were the last two farm events for the season. Next year I plan to host more events and provide more frequent opportunities for members to see the farm and learn how their food is grown. (more…)

The mild summer weather continues, leaving me with little to complain about on that front! We could use some rain though, as the scattered thunderstorms we experienced this past week came and went quickly and served only to interrupt our field work. Much of the crew’s time this week was again spent on bean picking. (more…)
