It’s time to sign up for the 2015 season!

The price for the 2015 season is $650, with a $25 discount if paid in full by March 1 (That’s only $25/week for the early birds).

You can put down a non-refundable deposit of $200 to save your share. Your share must be paid in full by June 1. Remember paying in full before March 1 gets you the discount. If you have extenuating circumstances and need to work out a payment plan we can work with you.

As before, you can split a share with someone else. If you need help finding someone to split with, let us know and we will pair you up as I get requests, or add a comment below.

2014 season members will be guaranteed a spot in the CSA if registered by Feb 8. After that registration is first come, first served.

Hi Everyone,

It was a week of glorious weather; plenty of sunshine and moderate temperatures. Now it seems we have slipped back into the rainy weather pattern that prevailed in the spring. The rains that began on Saturday evening have dropped 3 inches on us thus far, with more forecast for Monday and Tuesday. (more…)

Hello Folks! So, there will not be any sweet potatoes in the share this week (they will be back in the mix next round). There will be a tuber that looks a lot like a sweet potato but is not. It is called Yacon and is a member of the sunflower family native to South America. It is sweet and juicy and has a slight orange color (carotene). The sweetness comes from a sugar called an FOS (fructooligosaccharide) which is not digestible and hence does not affect blood sugar level. It is known as a prebiotic and contains beneficial antioxidants. (more…)

Hi Folks, we received little over 2 inches of rain last week, ending the latest dry spell. The fall crops are growing beautifully, and the recent seeding has germinated well. Unfortunately the cool nights and heavy dews along with this rain are causing a premature end to the tomato harvest. We have mostly cherry tomatoes left and a late planting that may produce a few slicers and some plum tomatoes. We will distribute these as supply permits over the next few weeks. (more…)

Hello Everyone! The farm has really “greened up” nicely since it has started raining again. The oat and pea cover crop, which we had been waiting to plant, is up and already two inches tall. The fall brassicas are growing rapidly, as are the spinach, beets, carrots, and mustard crops we have planted for the fall. It’s going to be a good fall season, but for now we still have a bit of summer to enjoy. (more…)

Hello Everyone, We received about 1.3 inches of rain from last week’s storms that were predicted to bring 2 to 4 inches. While I was glad not to get 4 inches, I was hoping for a little more. After 3 weeks without rain, the ground quickly soaked up the moisture and is still on the dry side. The precipitation was helpful for germinating seeds and watering in some of our transplanted crops, giving us a break from moving the sprinklers around the field. (more…)

Hi Folks,

It was another good weather week here on the farm: plenty of sunshine but not terribly hot. We had a torrential downpour accompanied by some strong winds on Friday evening but it didn’t last long and caused no damage. Our greatest challenge in recent weeks has been the critters, both the four-legged and six-legged kinds. (more…)
