Dill
This fragrant herb does more than add its flavor to pickles. Dill can be easily used on fish or chicken. It can be mixed with softened butter to make a flavorful spread, mixed into mashed potatoes, or added to soups.
Dill loses its flavor quickly when cooked, so if using in a recipe, add it last.
If you are new to using fresh herbs, 1 Tbsp of fresh dill equals 1 tsp of dried dill in a recipe.
To store dill, spritz lightly with water, wrap in a paper towel, and store in a plastic bag. Dill will last about a week in the refrigerator this way. You can also freeze it: Simply wash and dry well, then chop up, removing stems. Place in a freezer plastic bag, and pull out small amounts for cooked recipes. Use as you would fresh dill.
