Howdy All! We are on the cusp of full summer flavor and abundance. The tomatoes are beginning to ripen as are the melons, and if the raccoons decide to share, there may be sweet corn. For this week, it will be either a few slicing tomatoes or some cherry/grapes. Soon there will be heirlooms and tomatoes aplenty.

We have some small yellow skinned watermelons, a variety named Diana, which ripens early. We may need to stretch out over 2 weeks to get some of these to all of you, and the same holds for the sweet corn. We are now picking several types of beans- wax, flat Italian, and haricot verts. We will be rotating varieties over the coming weeks. It is a very colorful share this week and hopefully you will find it equally delicious!

The share will be: summer squash, lettuce, cucumbers, red onions, rainbow carrots, beans, red cabbage, basil, tomatoes or cherry/grape tomatoes, watermelon, and sweet corn. Premium shares will include Swiss chard, and there will be dandelion greens as an “extra.”

There will be mixed bouquets for the flower share this week and the fruit shares resume next week.

Enjoy! Farmer John
