Circle Brook Farm

Hello Folks! We continue to be on the dry side – after four days of drizzle there was barely a quarter inch in the rain gauge. There is not much in the forecast either. At least the light rain was good for germinating seeds and a dry fall is better than a wet one. We will continue to move the overhead irrigation around for now.

We are finishing the rotation with the cauliflower/broccoli and the kale/chard this week. We will have colored peppers over the next two weeks for everyone. The sweet corn is almost ready but is maturing rather slowly – next week for sure. There are still plenty of beans and zucchini. We have begun digging the sweet potatoes, how you do as well.

The share will be: Lettuce, beans, zucchini, kale or chard, choice of arugula or broccoli raab, salad turnips, broccoli/cauliflower, yellow onions, sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash, colored peppers (this week or next), and choice of an herb. Premium shares will also include endive-frisée and a second herb.

We are pausing the fruit for this week as we wait for more apple varieties to ripen. There are 4 fruit shares remaining.

Enjoy!  Farmer John
