We offer a flower share during a 3 month period, beginning in July and ending in October. The 10 flower shares will be delivered as availability allows- there will be some consecutive weeks and some pauses. Varieties will include: Snapdragons, Lisianthus, Sunflowers, and mixed bouquets featuring Zinnias, Cosmos, Celosias and other beautiful blooms. Brighten up your Day!
Fruit Share – 14 weeks (non-consecutive) @ $260
Two types of fruit each week, averaging 5-7 lbs./ week
Locally sourced fruit to the greatest extent possible. Some local fruit may be organic, most will be eco-grown. This means organic methods are followed as much as possible, but some spray materials which are prohibited for organic production are used, primarily early in the season. It is very difficult to grow organic tree fruit on the east coast due to the high humidity (fungal diseases) and one particular pest (plum curculio). Eco-grown fruit is monitored and tested for pesticide residues. In the event of crop failures on local orchards we will source only organic fruit from non-local US sources (west coast- CA, WA) Fruit will likely include: blueberries, strawberries, cherries, plums, peaches, nectarines, pluots, hardy kiwi berries, apples and pears. There is no guarantee that all these items will be available in a given year. Shares which include higher value fruit- strawberries, blueberries, cherries and kiwi berries will have lower total weight. The fruit for the final 5 or 6 weeks of the season will be primarily different varieties of apples and pears.
Microgreens Share – 24 weeks @ $138
We are thrilled to be partnering with Murphy’s Greens to provide a weekly share of organic microgreens. Murphy’s Greens is as local as you can get – owned and operated by Heather Prince Murphy’s (the owner of Prince’s Farmstand) daughters. The greens are grown on the premises using exclusively organic input. They will be harvested within 24 hours of delivery and should last at least a week in your fridge. Each week you’ll receive a small box of a single variety of microgreens that will rotate throughout the season. Varieties may include: bok choi, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, golden cabbage, cantaloupe, Tuscan kale, pea shoots, radishes, sunflower, and wasabi.
*As an added bonus, you can choose to have your greens delivered in a plastic clamshell or a paper bag. If you choose the bag, you will need to transfer your greens to a sealed glass or plastic container once you get home
If you can not pay your share in full, a $200 non-refundable deposit holds your spot. We are happy to work out a payment plan with you! Email westfieldcsa@gmail.com for more information.
